A Fun-Filled Week!

Peek-a-boo!!

So the last few days have been alright. Busy. Had a few fun days! I've been too tired to write, so I guess this is where I start at the beginning of the week.....

Despite it still being summer time, days still hot, muggy, sun-burning, I decided it was time to go through Alexis' clothes and get rid of some of her summer stuff that was starting to get too small and fill in the spots with her fall/winter stuff. I know, I'm pushing the summer away, which I really don't want to do, but the rack in her closet fell down from too much stuff being on it, so I decided I might as well...

Alexis had SO much fun just throwing all the clothes around the room. Definitely made it hard when I was trying to fold them and put them in piles, and she would just grab the one off the top and throw it behind her. I eventually gave up and just put them in front of her to go crazy for a while, and boy did she ever! Her room was filled with clothes by the time she was done!

I barely get the chance anymore to go visit my parents. One of the biggest thing that sucks about living where I live and not where I used to live. Alexis and I strolled over there on Saturday and spent a few hours with them, which my parents and Alexis loved!
Of course Grampa had to let Alexis "drive" his tractor for a while! She loves it though! And she pretends to steer the wheel, and we all think it's super cute...because ya know...anything your little girl does, IS the cutest thing ever!

Grampa sat on the window ledge with his one and only grand-daughter, and just chilled for a bit..the 2 of them together always brightens my day. It really is something to see!

and seriously, isn't this tutu the cutest thing in the world?!

Yesterday was a long one. Alexis and I headed out of the house pretty early to start our day looking for shoes for her. I'm not sure why finding shoes has been so difficult, but it was, and I hope to God it doesn't take as long next time. We spent a good 3 hours shopping around and walking places.

After her nap, we ventured out again. This time to the park. We didn't go to the crappy park, but to Centennial Park this time. It was the first time I took her there, and sure, it's not the greatest park in the world, but it's better than the one closer to my house, and at least the swings don't face the afternoon sun!

Alexis loves the park! What kid doesn't, I guess. She even cried when I put her in the stroller when it was time to leave. Yep..she's going to be one of THOSE kids...haha But really, she had so much fun! She checked out the park bench...

The slide...

Attempted to climb the play structure..

The slide....

Played in the rocks...

And wanted to climb the ladder...

Who would want to leave a place with all this fun stuff?! The poor girl was so sad she had to leave, she poked her head out from the stroller and watched it get farther and farther away from us as we walked home. I shall take her there again soon!

Today we went shopping AGAIN...for shoes. And this time was a success! They aren't the best shoes, or even really what I was looking for, but they'll do for now!!

I also got her some new jammies! They're for Halloween...and sure, it seems early to think of Halloween, but whatever! Nicole bought the same shoes and the same jammies, for Braelyn...they are just THAT cute!

Anyways, so I shall leave you with smiles!

Look at all those teeth!!

And a Big Bear snuggle!!!.....

Because everyone loves big bear snuggles...especially in black jammy pants with pink stars on diapered baby bums!!

Shoppppping!

So our big shopping day has come to an end, and there is still money in my bank account! Hooray! Nicole and I spent a good 4 hours at the mall, and I still came home with no shoes for Alexis. My girl is shoeless 99% of the time. The other 1% she is unhappy with her sandals on. Bleh.

Anyways, here are Alexis' winnings for today!

Tada! A whole lotta pink and black!

There were a few things online that I had wanted that weren't at the store, which sucked. But I am super happy with what I did get, and Alexis is going to be super cute (as always!).

Wearing her new hat!! SOOOO cute!

When we were done at the mall, Alexis and I went to my parents house to visit with some family down from Ottawa. It was the first time we went to my parents house since we moved. I miss being able to go over there all the time, for Alexis and her gramparents to have a great relationship, and although we don't see them as often as we did before, Grampa is still Alexis' favorite person in the world!

Anyways, wayyyyyy too tired to be writing tonight....

pink and black!

Today I got off work a couple hours early. I decided to go do a little shopping downtown before going home, since I wont be going downtown on my usual day off with my Mom and Gramma on Wednesday's because of going to the mall with Nicole tomorrow. It was the first time I have ever went shopping without Alexis with me. It was weird. Actually, it was the first time I really did anything without Alexis. I don't give myself a lot of time away from her, and I like it that way. But I will admit, it was kind of nice to do something by myself for a change, even if it was something as little as doing a little random shopping.

Aside from having an obsession with clothes for Alexis, I have an obsession with pink and black. Part of the reason why I am so excited to go shopping tomorrow for clothes for Alexis, is because the Children's Place has so much pink and black stuff that I am just gaga for. It's seriously ridiculous how stoked I am to buy all of this stuff for her. I feel pathetic...haha!

Anyways...not much to talk about today.

Baby Doesn't Listen

I got bombarded with my computer being hacked last night. I was worried for all my pictures on my computer even though I have most of them backed up. But Matt's sister Nicole came over tonight, and fixed it all for me, and all is right with the world!

It's hard when you have a long day at work, and then come home to the crankiest baby ever, who will not listen to you, keep going back and pressing all those buttons on the tv and the dvd player or the battery pack on Matt's computer that shuts everything off when she presses that one specific button....over and over and over again. And when you take her away from what it is that she wants and has to learn not to do, she just screams and screams and screams. Bleh. It was one of those days. And I honestly have no idea how to teach her how to NOT do those things. I know she is 1. I know she wants to touch everything that she can get her hands on, she either doesn't understand the word no or does and just doesn't care. I don't know. But it is definitely hard. And it is even harder on rainy days when they are cooped up in the house all friggin' day with nothing to do except push your buttons by pushing buttons that shouldn't be pushed.

On Wednesday, Nicole and I are going shopping for our little girls! I don't get to go to the mall often, so when I do, I get super excited. I live a sheltered life, shut up! I am ready to buy Alexis' fall/winter wardrobe, checked out The Children's Place online and know exactly what I am going to buy when I am there. I know, I sound lame. But when it comes to clothes for Alexis, I am obsessed. I have a problem. I will admit it. I love baby clothes. Everything about them. And The Children's Place right now, has some really really cute stuff, and I am super excited for Alexis to wear it all...lol I am determined that she is going to look sooo cute through all those depressing winter days.

Bedtime for me...nite nite!!

Another Week and So Much More Love

Oh what a couple days it's been! I worked my 4 days like I do most weeks, and this week, for some reason was the worst for missing my little girl. I think I am starting to realize how much time I am without her because of this stupid job, and it sucks. A lot. But as of September, I will be working only 3 days a week, and I'm hoping it will be okay for me.

When I get home from work, I try to steal Alexis away from everyone (Matt and his boys have been here all week), and I get in some Mommy/Daughter time, that I probably need more than she does. This week turned out good for steal aways in the evening, and we just went and soaked each other in, with the last of what the summer is giving us.

My girl loves this tree so much that she decided to give it a snuggle...for quite a while....lol How cute is that?!

And when she gets a little frustrated, she squeezes her face...she was kind of mad at my sunglasses.....a little....lol

When the boys are at our house, there is always either a veggie tray or a fruit tray out on our table for them to snack on. I usually don't let Alexis get into them, but this week, there was no getting her away from them. She was so sure it was her week to eat fruit and veggies the big girl way, just like the boys do it.

And she would dip those veggies into the dip, as if she knew what she was doing and why she was doing it, and I just thought it was the cutest thing in the world, because she wouldn't put the dipped part of the broccoli in her mouth and eat it. It was just super cute!

Yesterday, I took her to the park. It's been a while since I took her and pushed her on a swing, and I thought she deserved it. I feel bad for not taking her more often, but last night was a much needed swinging night. She enjoyed it! Laughed a whole lot, and was so much fun!

She had so much fun playing in the rocks at the end of the slide. She threw them on the slide, behind her, everywhere, and crawled around in them, and I'm surprised her little knees weren't sore. But she loved it.

And today, oh today!! It was supposed to be our once a year Friend Reunion, and well, it wasn't really a bust, because it turned out to be such an awesome awesome day, but the friends didn't show up. Our friend reunion turned into brunch at Denny's with Amanda, Liam, Amanda's Mom and Joe! And I will admit it was a great brunch, despite the fact that Alexis didn't want to be there most of the time, dipped her fingers in my syrup and before I could even get something to clean off her hands, she had smeared the syrup all over her brand new shirt! haha
She was happy when we were eating our eggs and pancakes together, but as soon as she was full, she had had enough, pretty much. And after you give this girl a little bit of freedom to walk around, if you take her away from that freedom and try to pick her up and sit her on your lap or try to put her back in that damn high chair, she will tell the whole place how pissed off she is. Oh my! It was the first time in a while that I took her to a restaurant, and I don't think it really went that well...lol But it was still fun!

After lunch, we went back to Amanda's Mom's house and Joe went home. Alexis always has so much fun at other people's houses because their stuff is so much different than ours. She enjoyed the piano the most, and I wished that I had a piano for her to play! She didn't bang really hard on the keys or anything like some crazy kids do, she just pressed the keys nicely and made some pretty music! It was beautiful! haha!!

And I must say, Alexis and Liam together is one of the cutest things ever! I love watching my baby girl play with other babies, but with Liam, it's like watching love grow! They are super cute together, and I love how he watches her. And it sucks SO much that Amanda and Bill live so very far away from us, and they can't play together more often.

We decided to drive to Cobourg this afternoon, despite its unsureness of rain. It turned out to be perfect. Rain on the way there, but a little bit of sun when we got to the beach! It was Alexis' first time at a beach, and I wished it was sunnier and hotter, and we could have worn bathing suits and played in the sand and got dirty. But it just wasn't meant to be, and there's always another day for that...or next year.

Amanda helped me out with trying out Alexis' feet in the water for the first time, so that I could take some pictures of it. Needless to say, I am thankful to Amanda for doing this for me, although Alexis wasn't too happy about it. She is always very unsure of new things, and I knew it wasn't going to be a great experience. It always takes a few times for her to do something new, for her to like it.

I LOVE this picture!!! I wish they were my feet with hers, but..what can ya do, right?!

After taking some pics, we went and took a walk on the walk, and the babies had a ball watching everyone as we passed them. Alexis even tried to share her cheerios with Liam! What a nice little girl she is! It really is the cutest thing in the world, to watch them together! haha

I wish there were more days like this. Days spent with my favorite people, doing random, spur of the moment things, that just make life feel perfect in every way, where you can just forget about everything that isn't right in life. Forget about all the things that make you sad or worry or feel like ass. Today was one of those days! And I loved it! Thanx Amanda, Cindy and Liam! =)

Nite nite for tonight! Much Love! Xoxo

Almost All Moved In!

Today was one of those days, I stayed in my jammies, didn't shower and only changed pj's when it was time to do laundry. I managed to get a lot of stuff done today. Alexis was in bed for what felt like 4 hours, because it took her a really long time to finally go to sleep. She talked to herself for a while, cried, talked, cried and then finally decided she would go to sleep. She is still not feeling good either. I'm unsure as to what the problem is now, because she seems to be putting her hands on her ears a lot, as if she doesn't want to listen to me, but I'm not sure what it really is. I hope it's not an ear infection or something like that. Bleh.

My Dad came over this morning and finished hanging stuff on Alexis' wall for me. Yeah, I know, I should just do it myself, but I like my Dad doing things like that for me, and I'm sure, part of him enjoys doing it for me too. One day though, I'll do it myself. But for now, my Daddy does it!

There's not a lot of room in her room, so I have to work with what we have. It sucks when you want to give them everything and all you have is this little crappy room, with not enough room in her closet for all her stuff and not enough room in her room for all her toys. I actually had to bag up some of her toys that I said I would do at Christmas, and decided it's time to give some to the Salvation Army. I only filled 3 grocery bags, but it's a start, right?

So, I finished Alexis' room. It was easier to get rid of boxes in her closet when I had shelves to put stuff on, and I am happy that it is all done now! And she just loves it too! When I pick her up and she looks around the room, there's so much to look at, she doesn't know what to point at first! Her little arm just shoots out, with her little pointer finger pointing at everything, and her little voice goes "Da!" to everything she points at. One day that "Da!" will be a real word. One day!

After Alexis went to bed tonight, I decided it was time to go through those last 6 boxes I had sitting in the corner of the living room, and I emptied 5, putting pictures on shelves and what-not. Glad it's almost finished now, and soon, maybe, I will feel at home. Although, I honestly don't think I'll ever feel like I'm "home" here. I still wish I lived in my old place, but I'll give it a few more weeks and hope that my thoughts change....I just don't think they will.

Alexis' after-nap hair-do today! She seems quite happy with it!

This week is going to be quite a busy one. Matt comes home from work tonight in the middle of the night, and he'll be home all week. I work 4 days this week, and Matt's boys will be here from Wednesday to Saturday. I'm thinking I might go to the Early Years Center in Belleville with Nicole (Matt's sister) and Braelyn, since we have never went before and have talked about it numerous times. I'm kind of excited!

And on Saturday, it's our annual friend reunion! Well....it's not really going to be a reunion...let me tell you! Barely anyone is going to come this year....oh yay! There's usually a good 10 of us who get together..maybe 8...I dunno. We've been friends since high school. But, this year, only a few of us can make it..Oh well, the people who can come will have a great time....if it doesn't rain anyways! haha! This year we are going to the beach!! I'm excited to see everyone who is able to make it, and excited for Alexis to go to the beach for the first time!!

Anyways, bedtime for me...work in the morning. Lame!
Good night! Xoxo!

Cranky Girl

My poor little girl has been having a rough time with having a little cold and teething, not sleeping very good and not wanting to eat much either. Coming home from work to a cranky baby is really tough, but I try to do what I can to make her happy. Tonight, after listening to her whine for 3 hours, I decided to take her back to the school to get some fresh air and to play, thinking that she'd be excited to go exploring again like she did the other day.

She really didn't want anything to do with anything, but was happy just sitting on my lap, snuggling, climbing on me, giving her kisses. I love that she loves me so!

She eventually ventured off for a few minutes, where she found a stick to play with. How unsafe is a stick? Seriously. But take it away and the screaming gets worse. Eek. I let her play with it for a few minutes before I decided it was time for a bath and bedtime.

Last night was her first night in her new room since we moved here. It didn't go very well at all, and she woke up wayyy more times than usual. And Emily said she woke up really early this morning. Looks like I'm gonna have to look into getting a curtain for that teeny tiny window so she'll sleep later than 6:30am.

Anyways, bedtime for me. Was a long day at work.

Together at Sunset

The good thing about living next door to a school, is the fact that we have a huge open field and some trees right beside us. Last night after supper, Alexis and I went and spent some time together under the trees in the big open field, just the two of us! Because I felt like I haven't spent a lot of time with her, or taken her out anywhere lately, I felt like it was needed for us. To just soak each other in, to soak the rays of the sunset in and just melt in the love and the happiness we share when we are together, and that is what we did!

We spun in circles for a while, because she loves spinning! She laughed and laughed and I laughed because she was laughing, and it was perfect. Nothing else in the world mattered, but our spinning and our laughing, and our just being together and loving going round and round in circles over and over again. By the end, we were both dizzy, and my cheeks hurt from smiling! I love that feeling!

We spent a good two hours there, as I watched her crawl around the grass, explore, find some dirt, that yes, I actually let her play in, and get super dirty for the first time ever.

And my girl loved every minute of it! There's just something so freeing about getting your hands dirty when you're a kid, and she definitely felt it, as she dug her way to China for the first time! She dug and dug and dug for quite a long time, looking at her dirty hands with confusion, interest and pure enjoyment in her eyes.
And she laughed hysterically when she threw the dirt in the air and saw it go flying!

Alexis loves to play peek-a-boo! No matter what she is doing, if she catches me looking at her, she finds something to hide behind and peeks out from behind it, and when I say peek-a-boo, she laughs, and hides again and does it over and over again, and just thinks it's the greatest thing ever! When she found a tree and decided she was going to play peek-a-boo, I just couldn't get enough of it!

It was such a nice evening just to be with her! I think I'll start doing that more often, before the summer is over and we're stuck inside because of cold weather. I'm glad I made the time to take her out. I've been so busy with moving that I haven't done anything fun with her in so long. I feel bad. But sometimes ya just gotta put the less important things aside, no matter how badly they need to get done, and just spend some perfect Mommy/Daughter time together, right before bedtime!

Today when I came home from work, I finished getting Alexis' room together. It's definitely something that needed to be done, otherwise she would have been sleeping in her playpen in my bedroom forever. It isn't completely finished. It's really in the works, but it's getting there. Still nothing on the walls yet, but there will be soon, I hope. Until then, pink walls, and still kind of a mess. But, getting there! Everything takes time, ya just gotta be patient!

I suppose it's bedtime for me! Another day of work tomorrow, and mornings always seem to come faster than I ever want them to.
