Fun!

It's been a pretty fun week and a half for Alexis, and I'm so excited for the nicer weather to be here for fun-filled days every day!
As hard as it is, working only 2 days a week, I am enjoying every second at home with Alexis and excited for the summer to be here and spending it with her.

Alexis has finally mastered "Thank You!" and I am so very proud of her! I'm happy that I have taught her some sort of manners at her age, and hope it sticks. Every time I hand her something, she says it, without me telling her to say it, like I have been doing for months. She is growing up so fast, to be such a nice little girl. The first time she said Thank you, she said it to Liam (Amanda's son), who is so good with sharing, and handed her a toy! I couldn't believe it! =) I'm one happy Momma!!

So yep, Amanda and Liam came over to visit! I wish, so badly, that they lived in town, so that we could have more play dates. Alexis only gets to see Liam every couple of months, and it's so nice to see them together!

I love seeing them play together! Such a fun time! I can only hope for more play dates with him and Alexis again soon!

We also finally got to go out to Early Years in Brighton this week with Nicole and Glen and Braelyn. I love that these places exist for kids. Although the one in Brighton isn't nearly as good as the one in Belleville, Alexis still has such an awesome time there, and gets to play with other kids, and I love seeing her interact with other babies, since she doesn't have a lot of time with other kids anymore.

I took Alexis to the park the other day. The park is definitely one of those things that will be almost an every day thing once spring comes! She just loves every second she is there, and I love watching her smile and be curious and feel her love towards life.

Such a monkey!!

At one point, while she was climbing the stairs to the slide, she was counting the stairs, "one, two, three, seven!" haha! I had no idea she even knew that number existed! Was definitely something new, and funny!

Alexis is at Matt's for the night. It always feels so weird not having her at home. After work today, I got to walk downtown and do a little shopping before coming home. I honestly can't even remember the last time I did that. It was kind of nice, to know I had no reason to hurry, and I was able to just take my time. I don't get a lot of days like that, so I took advantage of it. I bought Alexis a cute dress for Easter and got her some new running shoes, because her old ones were too small and I had to wear her winter boots on her for weeks. So, I was happy!

I'm still unsure as to what I want to do for Alexis for Easter. I'm thinking she is still too young for the whole Easter egg hunt deal, and she doesn't eat chocolate or sweets. So, I don't have a clue what I'm going to do for her that day. It's a good thing I still have a couple weeks to decide.

Bedtime for me!

Outside Fun!

My girls words are just a flyin' out of her mouth these days! I love hearing her copy all the words I say to her. They may not be the correct saying, but they're a work in progress and she is trying her hardest! Her favorite word right now is Mommy, and walks around the house saying it. When she sees a picture of me, she says Mommy, she points at me and says Mommy! Ah, I love it! That was one word she just never said a baby. No Mama, ever, came out of her little mouth, and now, she's all about Mommy!

This week has been a fun one, finally! The weather is starting to get nicer, and we've been able to play outside more, and Alexis just loves it! She is going to be super happy this summer, being outside all the time, and hopefully sleep better because of it!

We went out for dinner for my brother's birthday, and it was awesome seeing her uncle taking a love for her. He's not really into babies, so now that she is a little older and able to do more fun stuff, he just loves her, and it's nice to see him with her. She just loves Andrew and Tanya, and I'm glad they are in her life!

Taking a walk with Aunt Tanya!

With Grampa and Uncle Andrew

I love days we can play outside, although living on a busy street and no yard to play in, with a little girl that doesn't understand that walking near the road can get her killed and a mind of her own, can make taking a walk difficult. But for now, it's what we deal with, and maybe one day, things will change and we can have a back yard and stuff. Who knows what can happen?!

No snowpants for the first time this year!

Yesterday we finally got to go to Tracy's (Matt's sister) to see her baby for the first time. He is already 4 months old, and it's crazy to think that it took that long for us to go visit. He is so cute!

Meet William, Alexis' cousin!

While we were there, I took Alexis outside to run around for a while. They live in the middle of nowhere and have a huge yard, something, obviously, I wish I could have! haha! And she just absolutely loved her freedom!

Running around outside is favorite thing ever!

When we got home from Tracy's, Jesse and I took Alexis to the park for the first time this year! The park we took her to, was all fenced in and she was able to just run around free, chase birds and just be a little girl with an insane amount of freedom! And it was definitely fun to watch! I loved every second of it, and so did she!

Chasing the seagull! Her first bird chase!

She loved the swings, but not as much as last year. She wanted more, to just run around, than to be stuck in the swing!

I'm sure you noticed the name Jesse tucked in there somewhere, and as much as this blog is about Alexis, I thought it would be okay to mention him now. Jesse is the guy that I have been "seeing" for a month now. Not a long time, no. But he means a lot to me already. And some people may frown upon the thought of him meeting my daughter already, and I was unsure of what I wanted to do about that, but I figured, he wasn't just going to be dating me to be with me, he would be dating me, as a parent. I am a package deal, and I thought that he couldn't like me as me, unless he saw me as a Mother first, because that's what I am.
And in my favor, the two clicked instantly. Alexis just loves him, and he loves her. She wasn't shy around him at all. She quickly took to liking him and showing off in front of him and they laugh together, and it is quite a sight to see.
So, happiness all around, for the three of us! And I'm sure there will be a bright future for us! We are still just hanging out, but we are serious about each other and for the first time in a long time, I am really excited about someone and being with him, and for once, I can honestly say, I have a good feeling about life and where we are headed. =)

20 months old!

20 Months Old! It's hard to believe how fast the time is going, and in 4 short months, we will be celebrating 2 years of her life!
Every day she is growing, amazing me, surprising me, and getting more and more beautiful!
She has started copying almost every word that I say, and her vocabulary is full of new words! It's such a good feeling and makes me so proud!

And I probably say the same thing every month...lol But every month I am more and more proud of her!

This year, Alexis' Valentine was Grampa!

Wanting to go outside, even though it's almost bedtime!

Her first juicebox! I know it seems crazy that I waited so long to give her such a simple thing. She's drank juice before, but not lots. She loves water so much that a lot of the time when she drinks it, she says "mmm!" But she does enjoy her juice boxes now! lol

Smelling the flowers I got from a very sweet guy!

The weather is finally getting a little better, which is such a relief! I am anxiously awaiting spring like never before, and can't wait for all the snow to be gone and able to take Alexis outside without snow pants and just a sweater. I honestly can't even believe Alexis still fits into her snow pants! They're size 12 months. She's such a tiny little girl haha The poor girl is gonna be short like me. I already feel bad for her!

She had so much fun jumping in puddles the other day! Another reason why I can't wait for spring! There will be plenty of puddle jumping!

The good thing about my parents house, is their huge driveway and their huge backyard where Alexis can just run around and be free! The driveway at my apartment is all rocks and crap, so we took advantage of being at my parents house last week and played outside for a little while.

She has so much hair!!!

I'm pretty sure Alexis is starting to get her eye teeth in. It's been so long since she got a new tooth, I almost forgot she had to get more! Some nights are worse than others, just like always, but I honestly forgot how much teething sucked!

Well, Alexis is up from her nap now, so I guess this is goodbye for now!
