As hard as it is, working only 2 days a week, I am enjoying every second at home with Alexis and excited for the summer to be here and spending it with her.
Alexis has finally mastered "Thank You!" and I am so very proud of her! I'm happy that I have taught her some sort of manners at her age, and hope it sticks. Every time I hand her something, she says it, without me telling her to say it, like I have been doing for months. She is growing up so fast, to be such a nice little girl. The first time she said Thank you, she said it to Liam (Amanda's son), who is so good with sharing, and handed her a toy! I couldn't believe it! =) I'm one happy Momma!!
So yep, Amanda and Liam came over to visit! I wish, so badly, that they lived in town, so that we could have more play dates. Alexis only gets to see Liam every couple of months, and it's so nice to see them together!
I love seeing them play together! Such a fun time! I can only hope for more play dates with him and Alexis again soon!
We also finally got to go out to Early Years in Brighton this week with Nicole and Glen and Braelyn. I love that these places exist for kids. Although the one in Brighton isn't nearly as good as the one in Belleville, Alexis still has such an awesome time there, and gets to play with other kids, and I love seeing her interact with other babies, since she doesn't have a lot of time with other kids anymore.
I took Alexis to the park the other day. The park is definitely one of those things that will be almost an every day thing once spring comes! She just loves every second she is there, and I love watching her smile and be curious and feel her love towards life.
At one point, while she was climbing the stairs to the slide, she was counting the stairs, "one, two, three, seven!" haha! I had no idea she even knew that number existed! Was definitely something new, and funny!
Alexis is at Matt's for the night. It always feels so weird not having her at home. After work today, I got to walk downtown and do a little shopping before coming home. I honestly can't even remember the last time I did that. It was kind of nice, to know I had no reason to hurry, and I was able to just take my time. I don't get a lot of days like that, so I took advantage of it. I bought Alexis a cute dress for Easter and got her some new running shoes, because her old ones were too small and I had to wear her winter boots on her for weeks. So, I was happy!
I'm still unsure as to what I want to do for Alexis for Easter. I'm thinking she is still too young for the whole Easter egg hunt deal, and she doesn't eat chocolate or sweets. So, I don't have a clue what I'm going to do for her that day. It's a good thing I still have a couple weeks to decide.
Bedtime for me!
Xoxo
