Alexis and I are all moved into our house now. I still need a bed, and everything will be complete. Sleeping on a couch, is starting to get to me, but hopefully soon I will be able to get one. Who knows though, right.
It`s so hard to believe how much Alexis has grown in the last month. All her little jibber jabbers are turning into words, and she is trying really hard to talk more all the time! Her imagination is building, and she pretends to talk on the phone with grampa! She also pushes her baby around in the stroller and then picks her up and snuggles her and gives her a kiss and puts her back in the stroller and goes on her way again, and does it over and over. I wonder if she does that because she is imagining her baby is crying and she needs to be comforted....lol Either way, it is super cute!
This month, I took Alexis to 2 Santa Clause parades! I`m really glad I was able to do 2 of them with her, because she likes things better the 2nd time around. She`s always been like that. The first parade we went to, was in Cobourg, and we went with Nicole, Glen and Braelyn. Both of the girls didn`t smile once. They did enjoy it though, just didn`t show any real emotion for it all.
The Trenton parade was just the other night, and Alexis had so much fun at it! I knew she would enjoy it more than the first, but this girl rocked out so much the whole time, it was fun to watch! She danced to all the bands, in her stroller, head justa goin`! It was definitely a sight to see, and I wish I had video of it!
I still need to take her to see Santa for a picture, which hopefully I can do next week. I`m actually kinda worried what she will think of sitting on Santa`s lap this year...Last year was great, but she was only 4 months old at the time. But I guess we`ll have to wait and see when we get there!
Matt came over to visit Alexis yesterday for a couple hours. He has been on the road, pretty much the whole month, and hasn`t been able to see her at all. You could tell when she saw him, that she had missed him. It was really cute to see them together! She gave him snuggles and even gave him a kiss (she started doing the kiss noise 4 days ago!) and even knew to call him *Daddy*! It was super cute!
She is quite the character these days! She makes me laugh so hard, sometimes I cry!
We finally went over to my parents house for a visit. Alexis doesn`t get to see Gramma and Grampa very often anymore, so it was nice for her to see them again! Especially because her and Grampa`s love for each other is infectious! and I love seeing them together!
Alexis hasn`t been sleeping that great lately. I know it seems like a forever thing with her, and she hasn`t ever slept good. But she was starting to have a good routine of finally only waking up once at night, at almost the same time (10:40ish) and then she`d sleep the rest of the way through. It was bliss! But the last few nights have been rough. I`ve been thinking that she`s been having night terrors, which apparently is common. I didn`t think it was, because really, what does a baby have to be afraid of...But I guess if you think about it, there`s a lot of things for a child to be scared of when they are experiencing things for the first time and what-not. She just wakes up screaming like never before, and there is nothing that I can do to calm her down at all. She wants to be held, but at the same time, doesn`t. And she just screams and screams and screams, and I just feel so sorry for the poor girl. Last night, I brought her out into the living room where it was light, because the night before I didn`t, and we stayed in her dark room and she cried for a good hour and a half before she calmed down. I noticed that she didn`t really have her eyes open all the way, I wasn`t even sure if she was awake or not. But I think that bringing her into the living room made her clam down easier, because when she got out of my arms, she laid on my pillow and fell right asleep and the screams only lasted 20-30 minutes.
Apparently night terrors are a result of being over-tired, which in her case, is probably true. The last few days she has skipped a nap, only because she didn`t want to take a nap (she is VERY stubborn!). She is actually taking a nap right now! (Finally!!) Took her over an hour to finally settle into her sleep, but she is there, sleeping soundly! I`m hoping tonight will be different and she wont have to go through that again, but we`ll see.
My girl is growing up so fast! I can`t even believe she is almost 17 months old already!
I think I might put up our Christmas tree soon. I usually put it up December 1st, but I`m not sure what Alexis is going to do with it...so I`m not sure if I`ll put it up tomorrow or not yet. We`ll see how I feel!
