She is growing like a weed lately, and her brain is so spongy, she is soaking everything up in seconds. She can kind of count to 3 now, with me saying "one", she says "tee" and then I say what's next and she says "Sheee!" Super cute!
Christmas came and went, and what a good year it was. Alexis still had no idea what was going on, and wanted nothing to do with opening presents.
Her favorite toy, by far, that morning, was her new baby stroller! She wanted nothing to do with anything else, the second she got her hands on her stroller! It was cute though!
Here are some other shots of her on Christmas at our house!
After we opened presents at our house, my Dad came and picked us up for Christmas at my parents house! Christmas at my parents house, will forever be my tradition, no matter how old I get, and Alexis will love that too!
It was definitely a good Christmas, but next year will be even better, because Alexis will understand more about what's going on! We spent the day, spending time with our family, and Andrew and Tanya were there, and my Gramma and Grampa and my aunt! Was a good day! :)
Matt took Alexis over night that night, for the first time. I missed her a lot, but it was definitely a much needed break.
December sucked for sleeping. Alexis was sick for a lot of the month and with that, came no sleep for either of us. January isn't better at all, that's for sure, and I am finding myself easier agitated than usual.
Alexis has been going through something. I'm thinking bad dreams or just being scared in the middle of the night when she wakes. She screams for hours some nights, even after I turn on the light, if I have to. I'm not sure what it is that she is afraid of, but she is just like me. Scared of everything, and she is very sensitive too. The poor girl.
She has a dr's appointment this week, and I'm hoping that he can give me something on what's going on with her, because I feel this isn't normal for an 18 month old. But what do I know? I just know that she needs more sleep than she is getting, because there are some nights she gets maybe 5 or 6 hours of sleep, not altogether.
And now she is teething. It could have been the problem all along, I have no idea. But her gums are red now where her top eye teeth are coming in. The swelling and redness just started today though. So, I dunno.
This month has been a month stuck inside because of the cold. Kind of a boring time. My poor girl wants to go outside to play so much, and I guess that's one thing that sucks about living in an apartment building with no yard, close to the road. She just wants to walk near the road. I just can't wait for summer! My girl is going to be outside all day every day this summer, and she is going to love every minute of life! Until then though, winter sucks.
Nicole and I finally started taking the girls to the Early Years again a few weeks ago. We hadn't went for a few months because the girls were sick a couple of times. So now that they had been cold-free for a few weeks, it was time to take them to play again! They are old enough now to play in the gym. They still play in the baby room (up till 24 months), but they just love the gym! The cars, the slide and the roller coaster! Alexis just soaks it all in, and loves every second of it!
My girl loves rockin' a tutu! It's like she knows she's 1000 times cuter when she wears one! And this Momma can't get enough of her cuteness!!
Anyways, got some friends on their way over, better get a move on it!
