Big Things Happen So Fast!

So, I know, I've been lacking on the whole blogging thing. I'm starting to suck at this. But, I'm not going to quit!

Things seem to be happening quite quickly around here. No one seems to waste their time. The landlord has been bringing people over to look at the house, non-stop, since we told them we were moving out. Matt quickly took a weekend off from being a daddy, but I wont get into that. I went and looked at an apartment, which happens to be bigger than the house I live in now, and not even close to being as ugly, and I want want want it so bad! And even though the girl I work with, who is also a superintendent there, said the place was mine, when I called the other girl today, who showed me the apartment, she said she wouldn't know till tomorrow. What's that about? Bleh. I've already started packing, little by little. A month goes by faster than ever these days, and I don't want to cram it all into one week...it's just not fair to Alexis. I'm just hoping I get this apartment, otherwise I have NO idea what I'm going to do.

And today, oh today! What a fun fun day, full of great things that will forever be marked into my brain! October 5th! Such a big day!
This morning, my girl decides it's a good day to show off and get up and stand there, alone...I mean, she has done this before...stood there. But it's the way she stood up, like she had been doing it her whole life! And, I was proud!

don't mind her pants not being done up...she crawled away from me before I could get the snaps done up...and then she goes and does something cute...go figure...lol

And then we finger painted! Well, she painted herself instead of the paper! But she was so happy with her artwork all over her leg, and so was I!

And then my girl walked! (i don't have pics, sadly, but i do have video!) She walked like she had been walking forever! And I have never been so proud of her!! The first time she walked alone, she took 7 steps to the dog! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! And then she did it over and over and over again, and I just couldn't get enough of seeing it, it's the cutest thing in the world!! I'm so proud of her, for finally realizing it's not scary, for getting the courage to let go! Ah, my baby girl is growing up so fast!

And to think not even a week ago, my doctor tried to tell me Alexis is behind because she isn't walking yet! BULLSHIT! I knew I didn't have to worry about that, she is now only 2 days shy of 15 months old! He also said she should be talking more than she is. I already thought about that. She doesn't say very many words. But if she starts talking the same way she started walking, my girl will come out in full sentences before I know it! I know my girl is smart, I don't care that my doctor is trying to tell me that my girl is behind. She knows what people are talking about when they say something to her. She just doesn't like to come out and say anything. She will. It'll come, and I am fine with that. I will worry about it later if I have to, but I don't think there's a problem yet.

I am sad to say, when I move, Alexis and I wont have the company of our puppy dog. I hate to even think what Alexis is going to do with her puppy. Alexis and Mya are best friends. Alexis loves her more than anything. They play together all the time and Alexis laughs at her constantly. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do, and if it means no puppy dog, then that's the way it is. It's just getting harder to see them love each other day in and day out, knowing it'll end very soon.

Anyways, bedtime for me.
Nite nite

There`s Always Room for New Beginnings

I have been working full-time on something new, that has taken over my time for blogging. I wish that it hadn`t because when I get too far behind on blogging, I have trouble going back to where I left off. But, I will anyways. I need a creative break from working on Alexis` photobook, which is coming along awesome if I do say so myself. I love the work I`ve done. I don`t really care much if other people do, as long as I like it, and I do.

Anyways, so the last week and a half has just flown by. Alexis and I haven`t done too too much, and it hasn`t exactly been the most eventful time in our lives, but we still make the best of it!

My girl is changing every day. She is getting braver and braver, climbing on things, falling down, crying and getting right back up and doing it all over again.

It began last week. The whole letting go of things and standing there. She still wont take that first step, but at least she isn`t afraid to let go and just stand there, hand free! She would sit on her couch and stand right up. Why I don`t have ANY pictures of this, I will never know...but life goes on. She now stands by the table, picks up her sippy cup and stands there, holding it with both of her cute little chubby hands. And today, finally, I got a picture of her, eating a popsicle, just standing there! Cuuuuuute!

She is getting to be such a big girl, right in front of my eyes. It`s like having front row seats to the best show I`ve ever seen, and I couldn`t feel any luckier. I always knew that life was a miracle, and even though I have been through every step of life and experienced things, it`s so different being the one to watch. And let me tell you, I will enjoy having this front row seat to her life, until she pushes me out of that chair and moves me to the back of the theater, which I know, will someday happen, but no matter what, I will always be watching! :P

So, there were days that we stayed at home, and spent days just me and her, and loved each other, laughed and played all day long.

And there were other days we went out and played with Aunt Nicole and Braelyn!

We even went to a Baby shower of a co-worker of mine, where Alexis ate cheezies for the first time! It isn`t something that I plan on giving her much, but she loved them and gobbled them right up as she boogied to some Grease songs! lol She got right into it, it was fantastic!!

Her daily right-before-bedtime-bath gets my bathroom soaked from head to toe. My girl can splash like there`s no tomorrow! I end up looking like I came home from walking in a downpour! But she loves her splashing time!

On one of our outings downtown, I spotted some halloween costumes. I thought long and hard about getting one, because I really didn`t know what I wanted to dress Alexis as for halloween this year. Last year, she was a little caterpillar ....

she was 3 months old! SO CUTE!

I was debating on dressing her as a little punk princess and just buying a colorful tutu with a cute little shirt and some funky tights and buying pink manic panic and putting it in her hair, that I was going to put like 6 pony tails in. BUT, I decided against it, and realized, she`s one years old. She`s gotta be CUTE! So, I chose between a Bee, a Pumpkin and a ladybug. I let her choose which one she liked, and she seemed to go for the ladybug the most, so that`s what she is going to be! A ladybug! And boy does she look super cute as a ladybug!! Oh my!

Nicole and I have made it an every Wednesday date to go to the Early Years Center in Belleville with the girls. They love it there so much! We spend hours there on Wednesdays and the girls never get bored or cranky, and it`s cool because babies come and babies go and there`s always a new kid for Alexis and Braelyn to play with or watch. Although Alexis is so independent and does her own thing most of the time. She`s always the baby that`s not playing with any other baby. But if she`s happy doing her own thing, then I don`t mind!

Last weeks play date...

and this weeks playdate:

So, my girl`s daddy and I broke up today. Just the way he took it when I said something, I knew he knew it was over too. There`s only so much you can do to try and when it`s all been done and it`s still not working, there just isn`t any point. And I tried. Many times, for things to work with us. It just wasn`t in the cards for us, and at least we got my beautiful baby girl out of it all, and she is all that matters.
I am going to look at a new apartment in the next few days, that I am going to take no matter what it looks like. It`s reasonable price and right now, I`ll take what I can get. And as crappy as it sounds, I will have to get social assistance to help me out, but I gotta do what I gotta do, to make sure my girl gets everything she needs, even if it means Mommy and Daddy not being together.

So, it`s a positive thing, this thing that`s happening, and I can`t wait to see what happens next!

Early Years

It has been a looong week. I am drained, exhausted, in need of a break. Not from Alexis, but from life. I don't want to vent about things in this blog. This blog is about life with Alexis and her ever-changing ways and watching her grow. But, I will admit, some things in life are getting the best of me, and I haven't been at 100% for a little while. I'm hoping to change that sooner or later...hopefully sooner, rather than later, because I don't think I can deal with it anymore. Ahhhh!!!

Anyways, so this week has been full of the goods, the bads and the uglies. I'll start with the good, and more than likely end with the good, because there just isn't room for bads and uglies in here!

My Girl just keeps getting prettier every day! I feel like when I see her for the first time every morning, she looks older, more grown up, less of a baby and more like a little girl. It's sad, yet that's life, so I must go with it, and love it no matter what!
She has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen! She could get whatever she wanted with those eyes of hers!

Finally, finally, finally, Nicole and I took our girls to the Early Years center in Belleville. Finally! If I could drive, I think I might have taken Alexis there before now, but we finally took them, and I am so happy that we did! Alexis loved it! She loved every minute of it! She skipped her nap that day as if she couldn't sleep because she was so excited about going....and I was worried our play date would end early because of it. But, what baby would want to leave this place? This place is baby heaven!
Scooshy Mats to climb,

new toys everywhere, things to ride, things to crawl through, balls...

When we walked in there, I knew it would be an awesome day! It was so cute to watch Braelyn try to follow Alexis around everywhere. She is just learning to crawl now, but she can get places! They are fun to watch together! They have always enjoyed each other's company and I am really happy that Alexis has a cousin so close to her age and are already best friends!

I thought it was great, when I caught Alexis trying to climb in the truck! It looks like she is doing ballet (to me, anyways), and I can't wait for the day I take Alexis to dance classes! She is super flexible...but I guess all kids are....lol

I was finally able to get out and buy my friends presents for their babies last week! I didn't get anything super exciting or spectacular, but at least it's something! My work friend's baby shower is next sunday! And when I have enough money, I can send Morgan her present too (she lives in the states), and hopefully she gets it before the baby comes!

Last Thursday was Alexis' first day with Aunt Nicole watching her! I thought it would be hard getting her up in the morning and being ready for when Nicole came and got us in the morning, but it wasn't so bad! And from what Nicole said, Alexis had fun all day with Braelyn and was a good girl all day! =) Nicole even took some pics of the girls, which I was super happy about, because...well, I love pics of my girl!

She had so much fun in the wagon for the first time! And doesn't she look so cute in that pink and black jacket?! Love it!

I'm trying to get Alexis to say Cheese when I take pictures of her now. Maybe I should have started doing that before, but who knows?! When I tell her to say Cheese for the camera, she smiles an uber cute smile for me, so I am capturing her beautiful smile all the time now! =)

On Saturday, Alexis had to go to Nicole's again for the day when I went to work, even though weekends are Matt's time with her. But things happen, and he couldn't make it home in time, so off she went again, and she had another great day!

Alexis' CHEESE smile just keeps getting better and cuter as the days go by!

cutest picture ever!

Today is only halfway over, and Alexis and I have a few days off together, to just be me and her. Today we are taking the day off from the world, and just being together. We'll have to see what this week brings! Hopefully I'll get the energy to take her out for some fun in the sun!

Playland

The long weekend has come to a close. And to me...what weekend...Every day is the same, day in, and day out. I dont really care what day of the week it is...although that will change soon, only because the good tv shows start! Anyways, so it is officially September, and I cant tell you just how lame that is. Bleh. Im hoping for some more hot days to come our way, because this cold spell and rain has just been depressing.

I worked my first weekend this weekend, while Matt stayed home with Alexis and the boys. I hate that I am going to have to get used to the fact that someone new again is watching my baby. There were a lot of things I disliked about Emily babysitting and the things I knew she would do that were just stupid, and even after saying something, the stupid things would continue to happen, but she is gone now. The crappy thing about Matt watching Alexis is that he is Daddy and whether I like him doing something with Alexis, like how he likes to give her chips, even though he KNOWS I dont want him to...he says hes her Daddy and he can do what he wants, pretty much. Ughhhhh. I could go on...but I wont. Just sucks. I like things done my way, when it comes to her. She is my life. My pride and joy. I have done 99.9% of things for her since the day she was born and for 9 months before that. I should have 100% decision making when it comes to her. But..I guess not when Im not here.....Grr.

Anyways...........

So it hasnt exactly been the most eventful week to write about. Alexis and I have pretty much stayed in the whole time. Other than Friday, which felt like the hottest day ever, to meet my Mom for coffee. Alexis was having an off day. Probably because of the heat. I had wanted to go shopping for 2 of my friends who are having babies in October, and just when I settled in on looking for things, it was the end of it, and we went home.

We went to McDonalds with Nicole and her sister-in-law and the kids and they all played in the playland. It was my baby girls first time playing in there, and Braelyns too, and they both just loved it! We were lucky there werent any other kids in there that day!

dont you just LOVE those pigtails!!!

They played in the playland for a good hour, Alexis climbing up and down the tunnels, slowly, going through mesh, and she just loved every minute of it!!

After McDonalds, we went out to Nicoles to hang out and go feed some horses some apples. The last time I took Alexis to see the horses, she was 11 months old. At that age, she didnt care one bit for a horse, so I was kind of anxious to see how her reaction would be this time, being 2 months older. Wow! The difference amazed me! She laughed at them and pointed and laughed some more and was just in her glory looking at these giant creatures.

I tried getting her to pet one, but just like other new things I have tried with her, she wanted nothing to do with it, so of course, she wouldnt touch it. But thats okay. Maybe she will next time!

sorry for the crappy picture...the girl taking it, had no idea how to take a pic....but its proof she almost touched it...lol

The rest of the week was just...blah. Rainy. Cold. Blah. And we stayed in. Hopefully this week is a little more fun and the nice weather comes back. But who knows...

Oh! Before I forget to mention it...Alexis doesnt talk much. She has said a couple words here and there, most never repeated. Such as Puppy, Bunny, Ducky, Baby, all of which she knew what she was talking about. The only one she seems to say almost every day is Ducky. Yesterday when I was feeding her dinner, I asked her if it was tasty and in her cute little 13 month old voice she says tayythtee 3 times copying me!! YAY! And today she pointed at the light when she got up from her nap, and says ite! My girl is finally starting to talk, little by little, and I cant be more proud of her!!!

I gotta go to bed, so here are a few pics from this week!

A Fun-Filled Week!

Peek-a-boo!!

So the last few days have been alright. Busy. Had a few fun days! I've been too tired to write, so I guess this is where I start at the beginning of the week.....

Despite it still being summer time, days still hot, muggy, sun-burning, I decided it was time to go through Alexis' clothes and get rid of some of her summer stuff that was starting to get too small and fill in the spots with her fall/winter stuff. I know, I'm pushing the summer away, which I really don't want to do, but the rack in her closet fell down from too much stuff being on it, so I decided I might as well...

Alexis had SO much fun just throwing all the clothes around the room. Definitely made it hard when I was trying to fold them and put them in piles, and she would just grab the one off the top and throw it behind her. I eventually gave up and just put them in front of her to go crazy for a while, and boy did she ever! Her room was filled with clothes by the time she was done!

I barely get the chance anymore to go visit my parents. One of the biggest thing that sucks about living where I live and not where I used to live. Alexis and I strolled over there on Saturday and spent a few hours with them, which my parents and Alexis loved!
Of course Grampa had to let Alexis "drive" his tractor for a while! She loves it though! And she pretends to steer the wheel, and we all think it's super cute...because ya know...anything your little girl does, IS the cutest thing ever!

Grampa sat on the window ledge with his one and only grand-daughter, and just chilled for a bit..the 2 of them together always brightens my day. It really is something to see!

and seriously, isn't this tutu the cutest thing in the world?!

Yesterday was a long one. Alexis and I headed out of the house pretty early to start our day looking for shoes for her. I'm not sure why finding shoes has been so difficult, but it was, and I hope to God it doesn't take as long next time. We spent a good 3 hours shopping around and walking places.

After her nap, we ventured out again. This time to the park. We didn't go to the crappy park, but to Centennial Park this time. It was the first time I took her there, and sure, it's not the greatest park in the world, but it's better than the one closer to my house, and at least the swings don't face the afternoon sun!

Alexis loves the park! What kid doesn't, I guess. She even cried when I put her in the stroller when it was time to leave. Yep..she's going to be one of THOSE kids...haha But really, she had so much fun! She checked out the park bench...

The slide...

Attempted to climb the play structure..

The slide....

Played in the rocks...

And wanted to climb the ladder...

Who would want to leave a place with all this fun stuff?! The poor girl was so sad she had to leave, she poked her head out from the stroller and watched it get farther and farther away from us as we walked home. I shall take her there again soon!

Today we went shopping AGAIN...for shoes. And this time was a success! They aren't the best shoes, or even really what I was looking for, but they'll do for now!!

I also got her some new jammies! They're for Halloween...and sure, it seems early to think of Halloween, but whatever! Nicole bought the same shoes and the same jammies, for Braelyn...they are just THAT cute!

Anyways, so I shall leave you with smiles!

Look at all those teeth!!

And a Big Bear snuggle!!!.....

Because everyone loves big bear snuggles...especially in black jammy pants with pink stars on diapered baby bums!!
